If asked to pour what I considered the most distinctive whiskey I've ever encountered, this would be it. Witherspoon is a small distillery in Lewisville, Texas, founded by a former Marine. They produce a standard bourbon and two special releases, one finished in Port and the other in Sherry. Envision the darkest, richest, most fruit-forward, and complex sherried scotch imaginable, then add approximately 20% bourbon. Then, through some alchemy, amplify the richness even further. This bottle achieves that. Just when you believe whiskey has exhausted its potential, Witherspoon arrives with a surprising twist. Lewisville should be immensely proud.

It's alright. I prefer this over the regular bourbon. The sherry finish mellows the spice and brings out some fruitier notes at the end. It's just really pricey.
The sherry cask finish truly enhances the fruity flavor and smoothness. There's still a trace of spice. I'm proud that Texas produces fine whiskey. The price is also substantial.
