Winchester Kentucky Rye Whiskey

The aromas are quite pleasant. Vanilla. Oak. Spice. Hints of citrus and toffee. The flavor hits hard, though. It's strong and hot with alcohol. A little harsh. Some vanilla comes through, along with butterscotch. Spices like cinnamon and clove emerge on the finish, with an aftertaste that revisits the vanilla notes.

Clear amber color with widely spaced alcohol legs. The aroma consists of rye spice, pungent grain, and sugar water. The taste is similar and very mild. Medium body. The finish is short to moderate.

A subtle aroma. Peppery spice but not much intensity. Smooth. Likely suitable as a mixer. Lacks significant flavor but is pleasant and light. Good for its intended purpose.

I couldn't detect any rye notes.

Not remarkable, but a great price.
