willett 10 year son of a sipper

This is a review for a Willett Family Estate Single Barrel Rye, 10 years old, from barrel 2305, bottled at 59.0% ABV, called Son of a Sipper, bottle 146 of 153. I acquired this bottle in Annapolis, Maryland, for a fair price on the secondary market at $600. In recent reviews, I've named my priciest bottle of the year and my best bottle of the year. Those were premature declarations! I decided to open this for Christmas, and it surpasses the previous most expensive bottle and outshines the previous best. Willett produces the finest rye, no question. Any rye around 10 years old found at a reasonable price should be an immediate purchase. Of course, 'reasonable' is subjective and depends on your finances, but even if you had no home, I'd advise trying a well-aged (6+ years) Willett Family Estate rye at least once. Son of a Sipper evokes a holiday feeling. It presents notes of limoncello, cinnamon, pine needles, and freshly cut grass; let's get that out of the way. Deeper within, there's chocolate, iris, pinecones, and lipstick. While most ryes have a distinctly masculine character, this one is elegant and gentle. Despite being 59% ABV, it drinks like 50%, a sign of excellent craftsmanship.
