Whistlepig Piggyback (Revolution VSOJ Barrel no. 3)

An adequate offering, but I don't feel the VSOJ barrel significantly enhanced this. It might have slightly smoothed the flavor and added a bit of sweetness at the end, but the taste wasn't substantially different from the non-VSOJ version. If you're a fan of Whistlepig, you should definitely seek this out; otherwise, I don't think you're missing much. That being said, it's still a decent rye.

The aroma has notes of liquorice and cinnamon. It has a subtle start with a long finish. There are noticeable levels of spice, with hints of honey and wood shavings.

This is quite good.

Tastes like bourbon.
