Whistlepig PiggyBack 6 Year Single Barrel Rye (Store Pick)

The aroma is of roses, salt, lemon, and, surprisingly, raw chicken. The palate has cherries (medicinal), mint, orange, and spearmint, evoking cherry-flavored toothpaste. The finish is menthol, spearmint, with a hint of lemonade at the very end. The crisp, clean mouthfeel and pleasant lemonade aftertaste at the finish are the highlights. The body is less appealing, and it notably doesn't resemble piggy back, though it might be identified as a rye or possibly Whistlepig. The discrepancy is both disappointing and intriguing.

A lot of heat, as anticipated. A very direct rye whiskey with significant spice.
