Western Reserve 8 Year Bourbon

Drank it neat. I suspect this is sourced as the bottle indicates Western Reserve was founded in 2015. A guess, but I'd suspect Barton based on the nose. The nose is reminiscent of 1792 Small Batch. Woody, caramel, dark fruit, a whisper of brown sugar on the nose. The taste is very thin. A hint of those sugars and caramel. A whisper of spice. Not much viscosity. Nothing unpleasant or off-putting about it, easy to drink but lacking substantial flavor. Sadly, the bottle's appearance is its best feature. Overpriced for what it is, and I regret the purchase.

Aroma: Abundant sweet orange, bright cantaloupe, cinnamon. Less vanilla than usual, with only a subtle background note of freshly cut hay. Palate: Plenty of oak, caramel, corn dust, vanilla fudge. Finish: Chocolate and molasses. It concludes surprisingly quickly. Some spice remains.

The nose has floral and pepper notes. It's glassy smooth on the palate with corn sweetness, a little vanilla, and some baking spices. The finish lingers a bit.

A sweet beginning
