About this bottle

In 2003, West Cork, Ireland, became the home for West Cork Distillers, established by longtime friends Denis McCarthy, Ger McCarthy, and John O'Connell. Utilizing Irish grains and spring water, their whiskey is made with handcrafted equipment. The 12 Year Port Cask Finished expression is a single malt that undergoes triple distillation in pot stills. It matures for 12 years in first fill bourbon casks, followed by an 110-day finish in Douro Superior port wine casks. This limited edition is bottled at 43% ABV.

Mariana Bowen 3.5

A very smooth Irish whiskey with a light floral aroma, almost no taste, and a finish dominated by sherry or oak, with hints of light fruit, vanilla, rhubarb, or strawberry. It's very unique but needs a more flavorful initial taste.

Felicia Cortes 3.5

It's an okay drink, but it burns despite the ABV. I couldn't even tell it was port finished until I checked the details; it was so faint it could have been sherry. I definitely wouldn't buy a bottle.

Hudson Bowles 3.5

This one is a bit more peppery than the rum finish and slightly harsher. It has a good body and is pleasant to drink.

Sadie Moulton 3.5

Quality, sweet, fruity. But not my taste.

Charles Lu

Fiery and spicy with a scent reminiscent of a bowling alley's wood.

Grace Cutler 3.5

Notes of apricot, sweetness, smoothness, and butter.
