About this bottle

This whiskey is presented as a nod to pre-Prohibition styles of rectified American whiskey. It is a combination of a 3-year-old whiskey produced by West Bottoms, blended with other rye-heavy bourbons and dry Oloroso sherry.

Burton Chong 5.0

The aroma walks the line between malt whiskey from malted barley and the sweetness of bourbon. The spice from the rye is evident with restrained notes of dill and clove. A prominent toffee character is present, along with the expected vanilla and faint caramel. It drinks much smoother than its 47% ABV suggests.

Charity Velasco 5.0

An excellent everyday whiskey for its price and alcohol content! The spice notes are prominent initially, and the mild burn is welcome. The sherry influence provides earthy fruit notes on the finish. The second and third sips really won me over. I'm adding this to my regular selection!

Lizzie Avalos 3.8

Aroma: subtle, no alcohol sting, piquant, fruity Taste: minimal burn, adequate cinnamon, with a pleasant sweetness, oak. Overall, it's thin.

Nora Roy 4.0

Sweet. No. Earthy notes. Not overly spicy. Good for a rye.

Rosalee Bertrand 4.0
