Waterford Ballykilcavan Edition 1.2

It reminds me of entering a paint store. I was anticipating a quality similar to the only other Waterford I've tried, Ratheadon, but this fell significantly short. The aroma has an acetone-like quality. The taste features a heavy hand of baked bread, accompanied by wet grass and acetone. Given the producer's meticulousness and dedication, I attribute this either to my palate not being suited for this specific farm's barley or potentially receiving a flawed sample.

Nose: Earthy, cocoa, butter, sweet caramel Palate: Oily, farmyard notes, earthy, spice, and peppercorn Finish: Cocoa, oak, vanilla. Long finish. It tied for second place out of the six whiskies, with 14% of the votes for favorite of the night. (55% of attendees said they enjoyed the whisky). All the whiskies in the tasting were very close in the vote for favorite.

Nose: Peat, very earthy. Damp. Taste: butter and almonds, toasted coconut, some orange. It's light but intriguing.
