The aroma is potent with charred oak, ripe fruit, vanilla, brown sugar, and undertones of molasses. This is incredibly bold, also possessing a pleasant aged funk. It soon softens, revealing notes of caramel, yet retains its massive presence. The palate is chewy and mostly dry, coating the mouth with charred oak, a burst of pepper, creamy vanilla and brown sugar, and the sweetness of molasses alongside mild fruitiness. Much is happening here, but it's all in beautiful harmony, quite captivating. What more can be said when it's perfect? The finish is long, oaky, spicy, and creamy. All elements remain integrated and unhurried in their departure. This is from the long-discontinued Old Boone distillery and is pure magic. A quality of bourbon that is sadly no longer available. Drinking it transports you back in time, offering a rare opportunity to experience it. PERFECT.
