About this bottle

The An Ard Ri ("The High King" in Gaelic) represents Usquaebach's first new release in almost 25 years. This vatted malt is composed of over 20 Highland single malts, aged between 10 and 21 years, and is bottled at cask strength. The whiskies were selected from Master Blender Stewart H. Laing’s personal collection and include expressions from Inchgower, Benrinnes, Craigellachie, Glengoyne, Dailuaine, Blair Athol, and Auchroisk. Released in 2016, only 2,000 bottles were produced at 57.1% ABV.

Thelma Schultz 4.3

This is a solid pour. Being a major fan of Usquaebach, as it was among the initial scotches I truly savored, I find this offering quite pleasing. The cost might be slightly elevated, but in my estimation, it is justified. The blending process enables the creators to precisely achieve their desired profile. I adore the cereal notes and the sugary character. An excellent blend, without question.
