A bold interpretation of classic bourbons. It leads with many traditional bourbon characteristics like cherry, pronounced brown sugar, and a subtle tannic quality. However, it amplifies them to a remarkable degree, setting a high standard. Whenever I'm in Nevada and spot Two *****, I'll be ordering it. I'd even go as far as to say it's among the top distilleries in Nevada right now.
The nose presents notes of toasted oak and a slightly charred corn pottage. The taste begins with vanilla, features a strong oak character in the middle, and concludes with a blend of corn biscuits and chocolate fudge. The finish is medium at best, with charred oak and perhaps hints of apple wood & cardamom. It's quite decent, though slightly over budget. Bottle size is 375ml.
A smooth finish, but a little too sweet. Perhaps it would be good for sipping after dinner.
Solid 100 proof. Improves once it has some time to breathe.
