Turning Point Rye Nose: brown sugar, solvent, damp, earth, it's going to sound strange but it reminds me of the interior of a shopping center. Taste: honey and port, possibly some black pepper, also an intense rose water flavor... Oily rose and port on the palate, a never-ending finish. Initially... this is terrible. After airing out for a bit, I'd have to say it's still not good. The port and rose flavor are so dominant, it's tough to notice anything else. I believe the intensity of these particular notes stems from insufficient time in the barrel; I suspect aging it for a few more years might smooth out some of its imperfections. I genuinely enjoy their gin, though.
