Tullibardine 20 Year

Nose: vanilla, plums, red oranges, cherries in liqueur. All very light and delicate. Palate: milk chocolate, honey, perhaps a bit too much caramel (I cannot find the phrase "natural color" on the bottle: have they exaggerated? The color itself raises some doubt). Finish: medium-short, sweet, with honey and milk chocolate, which after a few moments transforms into caramel and cotton candy. Good, no complaints, and in my opinion with the perfect alcohol content of 43%. Very sweet. It's a shame about the excessive caramel, which prevents a higher rating. Rating 4.0.

A great deal of honey is present, followed by vanilla, a touch of white pepper, and a gingerbread-like quality. The oakiness is well-balanced, creating a smooth finish. The liquid has a pleasant thickness that coats the mouth and leads to a prolonged, mild aftertaste. While not particularly original, it's a dependable 20-year-old ex-bourbon cask. The exclusive use of first-fill casks is evident. It's reasonably priced at $120. A solid 4, moving towards the higher end of a 4 when considering its value.

Excellent spirit, genuinely among the finest whiskies experienced. If this doesn't appeal to you, perhaps scotch isn't your thing. The aroma is remarkably intricate; featuring fruit, herbs, and a significant amount of caramel and vanilla. The palate is superb, with notes of oak and salt – it's akin to biting into a freshly baked butter cookie. The conclusion is lengthy, lingering on the palate for minutes. Overall, a very fine and well-crafted product.

Very pleasant aroma with sweet notes of vanilla and hazelnut. However, the taste did not deliver. I found the strong alcohol flavor unpleasant.

A floral banana aroma was detected. Good notes of caramel and vanilla on the palate. Initially a bit narrow, it became nicely open and well-rounded with a drop.
