Marian Ernst 4.5

This is the 2017 barrel bottling. The aroma is surprisingly subtle, with faint hints of Sherry, ginger snaps, caramel, and vanilla wafers. Underlying grassy rye notes are present. The texture is medium to full-bodied, with a prominent rye presence. It has a grassy spiciness, balanced by caramel, brown sugar, and a touch of fruity, floral notes on the finish. The finish is medium in length. I'm pleasantly surprised by how much I like this.

Best bourbon I’ve had. Lots of great flavors, just the right amount of burn. Has a great cigar box tobacco note to it, I had a Single barrel reserve, hand selected by a friend for a shop in Ocean Springs, MS.

Oliver Stover 4.0

Smooth and potent. Oaky with minimal burn. Although it feels richer than many standard bourbons, for a cask strength offering, it doesn't deliver an overwhelming punch and is very smooth.
