This offering from Matsui Whisky is named after the area where the Kurayoshi Distillery is situated. Components sourced for this whisky are combined and aged in various used white oak barrels at this location. Roughly half of the blend is comprised of malt whisky. It is bottled at 86 proof.

Nose: Citrus, lemon, cream, malt Palate: Malt, bread, nuts, black pepper Finish: Brief. Citrus, cereal, wood. Lingering sour lemon note. This is a very drinkable blend of grain and malt from Japan and Scotland. It tastes precisely as it is: a rather good blend.
Nose: features rose petals and floral, herbaceous notes alongside sherry. Body: thin to medium. Palate: quite thin, with honey and a grainy malt character that finishes with spice. Finish: brief. Impression: extremely light and uncomplicated. Similar to a former bourbon I tried, I wonder about rice content, as there's a sake-like hint. It contains wheat malt.
Okay, I'm new to this. Initially, I detected a green apple and light caramel aroma. It brought to mind Jose Cuervo (not a great comparison, I know). However, after tasting, I perceived a very subtle buttery note.
A gentle sweetness and scent, with subtle hints of fruit. The finish has a faint trace of black pepper. I would occasionally try this again.
A floral and fruity aroma, with a pleasant but not excessive sweetness. A slight hint of spice at the conclusion, with a sufficient lingering quality.
The aroma suggests bourbon, but it's less prominent on the palate.
