This is not good. First, I'd suggest Kirkland's dark 1.75 or Largo Bay from Total Wine. For a similar price, they are a much better value. I wanted to try something from the Philippines because I enjoyed everything I ate and drank there. Adobo is amazing, by the way! The price is acceptable. Sugar content is low. It's very sharp, so it will sting your tongue a bit. It's not as harsh as Bijou, but smoother than Absolut. The aftertaste is subtly caramel and vanilla, with nothing else. For a gold rum, it's like a Blanco tequila. Overall, you could spend your money more wisely. I bought this on a whim. Use plenty of lime and Coke or fruit juice. If you want a better sipping rum, El Dorado 12 Year or Bumbaclot 8 Year are better choices around $18-24.
