Jamaica's Worthy Park, a modern facility established around 2005, is the island's newest distillery. Besides distributing bulk rums, they market the Rum-Bar brand locally. This is a 100% pot-still operation, sourcing molasses from their own sugar mill located nearby. The Rum-Bar Gold is aged for a minimum of four years in former bourbon barrels and was slated for US availability in 2017, in addition to being exported to Europe and Asia.

Old gold color. Allegedly a 4-year-old Jamaican rum from Worthy Park. Smells of cooked banana, crisp apple, plantain, diesel, animal fur, saline, cucumber, and caramel. On the palate, this rum is potent, with abundant ripe tropical fruit flavors. The lingering caramel/molasses sweetness gives it an unappealing, desperate quality. It's of medium quality and simply too expensive in Oregon.
A nose and taste dominated by wood and ethanol. However, it will perform adequately in cocktails that call for a young Jamaican spirit.
