Tomatin 1988, a limited vintage release from Tomatin Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, was added to the core range in April 2014. This single malt was distilled in 1988 and matured for twenty-five years in both ex-bourbon barrels and ex-port pipes. It is presented at 43% ABV, without chill-filtration or added color.

The sample I had was 28 years old. For a 28-year-old, it's a 3-star spirit, but for taste alone, I'd give it 4 stars. The port finish is discernible. Hints of peat and salty air are present.
