After owning this bottle for nearly ten months, I finally decided to try it. Without going into excessive detail, Tun 1509 Batch 1 is a very fine whisky. It possesses complexity and nuance in both its aroma and flavor. No single flavor dominates; instead, it offers a unique and harmonious balance of many tastes, consistently enjoyable with each sip. I concur with a previous reviewer's description of it as "delicate." I believe Balvenie has skillfully managed expectations for this limited annual release. While it is very good, I find it to be overpriced. I have no regrets about purchasing it, though I don't anticipate buying subsequent releases. This bottle will last a long time, and I will savor every dram.

About this bottle
For the inaugural batch of Tun 1509, The Balvenie Malt Master David Stewart personally selected 42 exceptional casks from the distillery's aged reserves. The resulting spirit is a harmonious blend of whiskies spanning many decades of the distillery's history. Thirty-five of these casks were American Oak barrels, while seven were European oak sherry butts. These were then united in Tun 1509, the maturation vessel where they melded before bottling.

An intriguingly complex creation from Balvenie. You perceive distinct notes of toffee and citrus. While there's a lot happening in this whisky, it is undeniably a top-tier beverage.
Nose: dried fruits and honey Palate: apples, nutmeg, cinnamon, a delightful spice Among the finest whiskies I have ever encountered. Eagerly anticipating purchasing a bottle to savor for years to come.
Melon, fruit, banana, berry, a faint whiff of cigar ash (barely there). It's almost too watery. It's decent, not fantastic.
Incredibly mellow. Noticed hints of brown sugar. A pleasure to drink.
