Brook Adam 3.0

(Good Spirits Co. Glasgow – Virtual Premium Whisky Tasting, January 14, 2023). Nose: A light aroma, with notes of children's candy, herbs, oiliness, and wood. Palate: Oily, waxy, acidic, with fruit (unripe pears), icing sugar, a damp/musty character, licorice, and cinnamon. Finish: A medium-long finish. Notes of black tea, oak, caraway seeds, a damp/musty quality, and bitter walnut. 1 of 285 bottles from a single refill hogshead. Oily, damp, musty, and a bit rough. Too oily for my taste. Intense, fruity, and complex, with a chewy and unctuous texture. More interesting than purely enjoyable. Ranked fourth out of the six drams, receiving 12% of the total votes for favorite of the night. 60% of those present indicated they enjoyed the whisky.
