Awarding 4/5 for excellent value! If you're in Ontario and appreciate Glencadam 10 but find its price tag close to $100 prohibitive, this is a fantastic substitute. This malt heavily features the spirit, with notes of vanilla fudge, yeast, lemon, and barley malt on the nose, and a very honeyed, Graham cracker palate, much like an aged version of Old Pulteney! I appreciate the natural light straw color and the 46% ABV. The finish is brief, but considering it's a $60 10-year-old blended malt, it's acceptable. It's not perfectly smooth going down and has a slight tannic and bitter quality on the finish, but the pleasant sweet flavors compensate more than enough. It's not Glencadam 10 (which I love in this style), but given the value and a slightly superior nose, I will repurchase!

About this bottle
Douglas Laing introduced this blended malt, aged for 10 years, in January 2018. The Timorous Beastie range from the independent producer features blended malts incorporating single malts from the Highlands. Consistent with all their whiskies, this expression is neither colored nor chill-filtered. The bottle and accompanying tube packaging are designed to evoke aluminum, the traditional material for a 10-year anniversary. It is bottled at 46.8% ABV.
