Smells of fig and plum, with sweet cinnamon. It coats the mouth pleasantly, showing a strong Sherry influence with additional sweet fig and raisin notes. Subtle baking and rye spices appear in the finish, which is medium in length and dry. Oak is noticeable. The finish is unlike others I've encountered. Intriguing.

About this bottle
This Sherry Cask Finished Bourbon, introduced in March 2022, is part of the second batch of extended cask-finished bourbons from Barton 1792 Distillery's Thomas S. Moore line. All four releases in this batch use the distillery's high-rye bourbon recipe, aged for 5-6 years. Specifically for this Sherry cask finish, only oloroso sherry casks were employed for an additional aging period of 1-4 years. The batch is bottled at 98.7 proof.

We sampled 4 different cask-finished products from Thomas S Moore tonight. This one was clearly the best. All of them were excellent.
The best of the Moore series, in my opinion, although the cognac one is actually better. I'm tasting 4 bottles from the series. This one is good. Dark. Rich.
The sherry finish contributes to the enjoyment of this one.
