About this bottle

Introduced in March 2022, this bourbon is one of four extended cask-finished bourbons featured in the second batch of Barton 1792 Distillery's Thomas S. Moore collection. Each of the four variations utilizes the distillery's high-rye bourbon mash bill and is aged for 5-6 years. For this particular expression, Merlot casks originating from Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley were employed for the finishing period, which lasted between 2 and 4 years. The batch was bottled at 93.3 proof.

An awkward finish. Lacks a strong "bourbon" character. Reminiscent of play-dough. The aroma is excellent. Something is missing.
