This is the ultimate rye whiskey, a truly underappreciated bottle from the BTAC collection. It perfectly balances sweet and spicy. No dill or pickle notes are present. The palate offers caramel, apricots, and allspice. The finish is spectacular, with spicy chocolate/coffee notes lingering. My wife, who dislikes whiskey, found this delicious! This bottle is worth the cost.

A satisfyingly long finish. It certainly presents as rye but doesn't feel overly hot for its 124.9% proof. I detect a significant amount of baking rye spice on the palate, but it's not excessively herbal. It's an interesting bottle, and I'm glad to have experienced it, though it likely won't astound everyone.
Aroma: abundant red fruit, cinnamon-spiced candy, hint of anise Taste: dark tea, rich stone fruit preserve, additional cinnamon heat Aftertaste: lingers with bourbon characteristics of toffee and raw sugar. Strong rye character too 7 out of 10 on the t8ke scale
Quite pleasant. Very rich, sweet, and classic Buffalo Trace character. Not obviously a rye. A touch too warm for my preference, but the rich sweetness was much more pronounced than the alcohol.
There are comparable barrel-proof ryes available for less than a fifth of the secondary market price. Examples include Jack Daniel's SBBP Rye and Woodinville Cask Strength Rye.
Starts warm, but quickly mellows out (after 5 minutes with an ice ball). A very good rye, though not my absolute favorite. Caramel notes present.
