The Morning Glory

This bottle was selected by a Rochester Whiskey Enthusiasts group, marking my first encounter with Spirits of French Lick and a bourbon with a prominent buckwheat character. The bottle brought to mind chocolate chip pancakes with maple syrup, perfectly aligning with the name “Morning Glory.” The slightly elevated alcohol content of this store pick prevented the overall experience from becoming overly sweet, introducing a bit of ethanol burn and rye spice at the end. I'd like to acquire this bottle again; it's a distinctive and delightful product that has been very well-received by friends who aren't typically whiskey enthusiasts. I will be watching for another group pick.

This bourbon is quite sweet, with hints of chocolate malt ice cream, fresh honey, and a touch of dark coffee. The Morning Glory lives up to its moniker. Add it to your coffee and get ready for the day!

Very smooth. A nice subtle initial taste. Sweet finish. Honey lingers. I will purchase more.
