Distillery - Longmorn Bottler - Meadowside Blending (MBl) Bottling serie - The Maltman Vintage - 10.2008 Bottled - 03.2019 Stated Age - 10 years old Casktype - Pedro Ximénez Sherry Finish Strength - 52.9 % Vol. Color: I don't usually mention the color, but it's so beautiful. It's a medium soy sauce color, transparent like Grade 1, reflects a lot of light, and is visually appealing when swirled. Aroma: It smells like damp grapes, similar to an unripened cognac. The alcohol aroma is noticeable, and there's a clean sweetness like sugarcane or soju. Upon tasting, it also has a dominant dry wood or bitter aroma. Taste: It's spicy!! The texture is light, and young sherry bursts forth. But it's definitely simple because it's only 10 years old. Instead of leading to complex flavors, it immediately transitions to a chemical sweetness or bitter oakiness. It flares up briefly like a lighter used to light a cigarette, but after lighting the cigarette, it disappears, leaving only a slight gas smell. Finish: After swallowing, it briefly emits energy with the proof and heat, then turns into an unappealingly bitter oak aroma and disappears quickly. One-line review: # Feels like eating unripe kimchi. # What would it have been like bottled at 15-20 years old?
