This is the finest whisky I've ever experienced. I acquired a bottle with some companions years ago for celebrating important moments. It was priced at 300 EUR. It was quite a surprise when, during our last drink, four years later, the same bottle had tripled in value. Since then, I've sampled remarkable spirits, but none compare to this treasure. It justified its cost entirely.
I'm not good at describing flavors, but I'd say it tasted like an old library or a library itself, though not negatively – aged, smooth, with character and depth – similar to the aroma of the leather cover of a cherished, well-used journal – with a subtle hint of smokiness.
The Macallan Fine Oak 25 is robust, but contrary to popular opinion, it leans more toward smoke than sweetness. It imparts a profound and comforting sensation.
Aroma of warm roasted nuts and sweet vapor. The taste is rich, with a smooth and gentle finish.
You get what you pay for. Macallan is simply irreplaceable.
