One might imagine that when Hollywood celebrities gather to discuss their Oscars and self-admiration, they would be drinking fine whiskey from a crystal decanter. Hilhaven Lodge suggests this might be the whiskey they'd consume, a blend of rye from the 80s, Tennessee whiskey from the 90s, and bourbon from the 2000s. While blending whiskies isn't new, combining spirits from different decades is distinctive and uncommon. This whiskey is quite dark for being 80 proof and also possesses more flavor than most 40% ABV whiskies. It's fruity and crisp; I enjoy this drink! It's certainly an easy drinker, but I wish it had a bit more complexity. Increasing the ABV to 90-110 proof would make this truly exceptional. As it stands, it's not bad, so if you can find it, buy a bottle or try it at a bar. 3.9 out of 5 boners.
