The Glendronach 1994, 27yo, Hand Filled Oloroso Sherry Cask

The last whisky from the 5 great pours on the distillery tour, which was fantastic, was another cask strength bottle filled by hand. This one was a 1994 vintage, 27 years old, that visitors can buy and fill themselves for a complete experience. It was a single Oloroso Cask, bottled at 52.6% abv. This marks the end of the official tour's drinks; next, I'll review whiskies from the distillery bar, particularly the incredible Glendronach 1971. The aroma presented creamy cheesecake, cocoa cream, tiramisu, and cookie dough. The taste was quite pleasing, though not exceptionally remarkable. Flavors included vanilla, chocolate, hazelnut, and ginger. The finish was also not overly intricate. Notes of ginger spice, chocolate, and hazelnut lingered. Overall, for a bottle costing £450, it didn't meet my hopes. I actually purchased the less expensive 11-year-old PX Hand Filled version, not this one (also due to my financial situation, haha), which I considered superior. My rating for this single malt is a reasonable 86 out of 100. This score isn't great for a bottle at this price point, nor for any Glendronach, as it's one of my preferred distilleries.
