The Glendronach offers a range of different wine cask finishes, with attractive labels in pastel colors, that are quite hard to find. One of these is their fuchsia label, the 15yo Moscatel finish. I purchased a glass of this delight at the Glendronach distillery's bar, following a tasting of five excellent whiskies included in the distillery tour. I thought it was a good opportunity to try some of their special offerings. This Moscatel finish is bottled at 46% ABV and presents a lovely pink/peach color. On the nose, it is exceptionally floral. Pollen, heather, and blossoms. Hazelnut and a general nuttiness. Hints of Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Very inviting. On the palate, the floral notes persist. Highly perfumed, with notes of roses, oranges, and flowers. Wonderful. It also has a floral finish. Roses and cotton candy. Subtle sweetness. Not overly long. Overall, this is a rare find. I must say this is the most floral whisky I have ever encountered, and while that's not typically my preferred profile, it is executed exceptionally well here. A truly interesting experience; this is a Glendronach unlike any other, lighter in body and velvety in texture. An elegant dram, my rating is 94 out of 100.
