Gentle smoke and peat on the nose. Very sophisticated. It evokes sitting by a fire in a small Islay pub on a chilly evening. Sherry, oak, and a wisp of smoke on the palate. A little spicy, not overly hot. The finish is lengthy and pleasant with subtle smoke. This is truly elegant. Arguably one of the finest Islay whiskys I've encountered.
