The fifth release in Balvenie's limited Tun 1509 series, this expression arrived in 2018. Malt Master David E. Stewart chose whisky from 29 distinct casks for this bottling: 10 traditional American oak barrels, 8 sherry butts, 8 sherry hogsheads, and 3 refill American oak hogsheads. These whiskies are combined in the Tun and allowed to marry for three months in Warehouse 24. It is bottled at 52.6% ABV and offered in limited quantities.

Consistent honey flavor throughout. I could identify this as a Balvenie in a blind test. It strongly resembles their Double Wood 12, but without the harshness of a younger spirit. Notes of candied orange are present. The finish is long and delicate.
This scotch is amazing! While the cost is quite high, it's almost as good as any scotch I've ever had. It's certainly worth considering.
Exhibits excellent balance, a flawless blend of elements, and is very easy to enjoy.
A wonderful example of the distillery's capabilities, though I find it too expensive.
The taste is very similar to the Macallan Rare Cask range.
This is the best release from the 1509 series to date.
