The Arran Malt Millennium Casks

Arran, a distillery that, in my honest opinion, has never produced a subpar whisky, has undertaken an experiment I'd liken to the Y2K of spirits. Let me elaborate: Arran Millennium casks is a blend of two barrels, one filled on December 31st, 1999, and the other on January 1st, 2000. It was conceived as a bottling containing whisky from two different millennia. Only 7800 bottles were produced, and it has an alcohol content of 53.5% ABV. On the nose, it began with the characteristic Arran pineapple aroma. Cherries, tangerine. Barely perceptible sugar. After the first taste, it offered cherries and spices. A fruit salad. It's incredibly fruity. Like a perfume. On the palate, three distinct notes, all of which were amazing. White chocolate, pineapple, milk chocolate. The finish started with a fruit salad note, followed by tobacco, hay, and coconut. Overall, this was exceptionally well-balanced, so much so that I feel compelled to award a perfect score for "balance." The remaining elements—nose, palate, and finish—each received a 23/25 in my assessment. This is undoubtedly a superb whisky. Highly enjoyable and collectible; my rating for this one is 94 out of 100.
