You know the saying, "all bourbon is whiskey, but not all whiskey is bourbon"? That doesn't apply here. This "exception" is because it's now legal to call something "bourbon" if it's only been aged in oak for just two years. Traditional whiskies (and Irish whiskies) must be matured for at least three years, which is why That Boutique-Y Whisky Company even changed its name for this release to "That Boutique-Y BOURBON Company". This actually comes from the Reservoir distillery in Richmond, USA. It's bottled at 46.6% ABV. On the nose, there are some unusual notes for a bourbon: raw rice, fresh fields, soap, and caramel. It's rather strange. On the palate, it's very light. With a distinct honey note; hay, and some notes like headache pills - those white ones that start to get dusty as soon as they melt in your mouth. The aftertaste has a slightly grainy note; more of this headache pill flavor and very grassy. Overall, this is something quite interesting and different. Personally, I wouldn't drink more than one glass of this, but it's not bad and certainly an interesting experience. 80/100.
