Appearance: Clear. Aroma: Powdered sugar, pine, and fragrant resin. Flavor & Texture: It's sweet but less syrupy than other mastiha, which is nice. Piney, resinous flavors are present, along with a slightly dusty or earthy quality and a bit of flinty hardness in the aftertaste. The texture is thick and luxurious, though again, less so than other mastiha. This is another pleasant mastiha, with a slightly different character than others I've tried, but they all remain within a very narrow range of variation. No complaints, but it's not particularly outstanding either. It's rated just slightly above average. Unfortunately, this is one of only three brands we've managed to find in Australia so far, and none has been as good as those we tasted in Greece. I suppose the best stuff doesn't get exported (or maybe it was just the setting). "Average": 79/100 (2.75 stars)
