This non-peated Speyside single malt expression was initially matured in American oak. It subsequently undergoes a finishing period of several months in casks that previously contained Spanish grenache red wine. The bottling proof is 80.

Notes of nuts and almonds on the aroma. A touch of Seville orange marmalade is present. This reappears on the taste. Sweetness from honey and a wine-like quality, along with a fudge and vanilla character. White pepper emerges on a lingering warm finish.
Red fruits and some honey on the nose. Jam and sweet custard are smooth on the palate. The finish has a peppery linger.
Fresh, subtle scent, orange, green apples, vanilla. Subtle taste, nothing stands out. Short, mild finish.
I have some difficulty with the red wine component. I still appreciate the fruitiness and the aftertaste, but it's not something I would repurchase.
Pleasing yellow-brown color. Aroma is sweet but brief. Taste is more bitter than sweet. Rather ordinary.
