Sheena Landrum 4.8

In my opinion, Tamdhu surpasses Macallan. Its flavor and aroma are far superior, and while not inexpensive, it doesn't reach Macallan's extreme pricing. Tamdhu is renowned for its fully sherry-matured expressions, which are always perfect with a cigar. Following Dalmore's lead, Tamdhu has introduced this "Cigar Malt," an exceptionally dark whisky bottled at a solid 53.8% ABV. The aroma is absolutely flawless. Cherries dipped in chocolate, a wonderful scent. It's intensely sherried: dates; it transformed remarkably after a few minutes of breathing: lemon zest marmalade and glazed ham. It's like chilling a "Crunch" chocolate bar. Thick maraschino cherries, hazelnut, nutmeg. It's a stunning experience. The palate offers hazelnuts, almonds, very nutty. A dark rum character is noticeable, making it an ideal pairing for a cigar. Cherry syrup, orange peel, molasses, and quince dessert flavors are present. The finish is extremely dry; sherried and predominantly oaky. Nutty notes, including hazelnut, almonds, and bitter chocolate, are also present. It improves with each sip. Overall, this is the quintessential example of a "sherry bomb." It's akin to the final pour from a sherry butt. One of the finest whiskies I've sampled this year; Tamdhu delivers once again. My rating is 97 out of 100.

Elisa Oneal 4.5

Complex sherry nose with notes of raisins and herbs. It has a heavy body with good tannins, vanilla, and intense sherry character, leading to a long finish.
