Pasquale James 4.3

While Tamdhu is considered one of today's top whisky producers, there was a period when it lacked popularity and was mainly used in blends. This 25-year-old bottling is quite rare, originating from that past era, from several decades ago, when the "little dark hill" distillery wasn't as celebrated and was primarily relegated to the shadows of whisky blends. The aroma presents an amazing orange note; it's like lulo fruit, an orange peel dipped in chocolate. Truly an epic, clean scent. On the palate, it's a bit traditional yet very refined. Toffee, spice; caramel and sulfur. Delicious. The finish is where that familiar Tamdhu chocolate emerged. Tobacco. Very elegant vanilla. Overall, it wasn't overwhelmingly impressive but was undoubtedly a well-made drink. Not overly complex, it could still fool inexperienced drinkers into thinking it's the best whisky they've ever had. For more seasoned whisky enthusiasts, it would rank slightly above average. The tasting and aroma notes are quite classic, but everything was presented smoothly. An honest score would be 88 out of 100.
