Talnua Bourbon Cask & Stave Series Whiskey

The aroma initially highlights the wonderful malted barley, which is always welcome in my glass, followed by a bold impact from the bourbon barrels with sweet caramel and baked treats. The taste and finish show a similar division but are generally less vibrant. Is it the distillery, the alcohol content, or the Irish single pot style that I'm not accustomed to?

Presents as quite light and effervescent, with a predominant vanilla presence, yet it lacks depth in its taste. The alcohol integration is suboptimal. Its body is acceptable, but adjustments are needed.
