The scotch barrel imparts much of the character to this spirit. Its profile is more akin to scotch than other whiskeys. I'm fine with that, but the flavor is not superb. It's satisfactory, just not fitting for the cost. Ultimately, consider buying only if you are really into scotch barrel aged whiskey.
