Smell: vanilla, moderately floral, a gentle salinity, and a hint of earthy peat. Honeyed apple/pear. Taste: mellow and smooth, very easy to drink. Vanilla, honey, a touch of green apple, gentle baking spice, floral. A little smoke and earthy peat appear as it transitions to the finish. The "green" notes I associate with Hakushu are subtly present. A touch of black pepper. Finish: sweet, lightly warm.

Nose: green apple/orchard fruit, caramel, vanilla. A touch of peat and smoke. Butter, a little sweet oak. A hint of cinnamon and spice. Palate: smooth, well-balanced between light fruity and malty character and sharper grain whisky notes. Green apple shows up as it moves to the finish. Finish: rather short, somewhat floral.
I appreciate this. A very mild smokiness with a touch of green apple.
