The 18-year-old Stronachie bottling, similar to its 12-year counterpart, is not actually produced at the Stronachie distillery but is crafted to commemorate the now-defunct distillery. The whisky is made at the Benrinnes distillery. While Benrinnes whisky is frequently used in blends and some independent single malt releases, proprietary bottlings from Benrinnes are rare, though one has been issued previously. This 18-year-old spirit is matured in both bourbon and sherry casks and is released in limited batches.

A very good whisky, although I'm genuinely surprised it's classified as peated. In terms of PPM, I'd describe it as -2; it's barely detectable. Nevertheless, it all comes together nicely: some walnut, a hint of lemon zest, and a touch of spice. At 46% ABV, it offers a truly satisfying mouthfeel. I'd recommend it if you can find a bottle.
Vanilla, raisins, and toasted cereal on the nose. The palate is fruity and bright, with pineapples, lemon peel, and berries coming through. The finish is sweet and somewhat short, but very good overall. Worth trying.
Green grape, light vanilla, bright. A slight funk at the end with a short finish, but nice viscosity.
Sweet. Mild peat. A faint hint of paint thinner. Spicy.
Sweeter and less intense than the 10 year old.
