Stone Pine Original Dry Gin

Aroma: Juniper, lemon, lime, bay leaf, rosemary. Taste: Smooth and gentle upon tasting. Herbal and sweet with a really nice, developing creamy texture. Juniper is definitely noticeable but not overpowering. Citrus and various botanicals are clearly just as important, and there's a pleasing equilibrium. An underlying botanical sweetness enriches the taste. Aftertaste: Medium length. Mild and pleasant, it smoothly transitions into a gentle herbal lingering flavor. A perfectly acceptable and enjoyable London-dry style gin with no unpleasant notes whatsoever. It's very well-crafted and balanced, making it a pleasure to drink straight. As a mixer, it performs very well in a gin and tonic, and I suspect it would be suitable for all traditional cocktails. The sole drawback is its lack of distinctiveness compared to many other mid-range gins. Consequently, the decision hinges on price, and at AUS$75, it's approaching the upper limit. I'm scoring this above average, and I'm confident most gin enthusiasts will appreciate it. However, at the current price point, the distillery faces formidable competition.
