Theodora Vitale 3.3

From the Bull City Bourbon Club, this "Muffin Poppin" release is Perseus C9, originating from MGP and aged for 6 years. It's 57.23% abv (114.46 proof) and has been open for 2.5 months. I got a 2 oz sample from a friend. The aroma presents black pepper, rye notes, potent cinnamon, newly baked bread, subtle oak, and a powerful ethanol presence. The taste is unexpectedly viscous, with notes of scorched vanilla, molasses, clove, cinnamon, black tea, and an astringent spice. The conclusion is moderate, featuring black pepper, dry oak, charred black tea, citrus zest, and a noticeable ethanol level. This is quite decent, but fairly standard for MGP bourbons in this cost bracket. It lacks sufficient sweetness for my preference, leaning heavily into

Shantel Reinhardt 3.5

Smells quite sweet. The high rye content is noticeable on the palate. A combination of sweetness and spice. It won't stand up to the absolute best, but considering its age profile and price, it was good quality.
