The nose combines wheat and caramel into a pleasant, sweet aroma. The palate is surprisingly spicy for a bourbon, with underlying notes of vanilla and charcoal. The finish remains spicy but is quite smooth for 114 proof.
Caramel and vanilla on the aroma. The taste is spicy instead of sweet as anticipated, with hints of cherry and oak as the initial intensity fades.
I really enjoy this serving. It doesn't burn like a 120 proof spirit.
