I typically find Starlight to be quite good with barrel finishes, but this one has a bit of a harsh, young quality that overshadows the brandy finish. That finish probably would have worked better on a bourbon; in hindsight, brandy and rye doesn't really seem like it would be a great combination.

Global release. 4.5 years old, 56.5% ABV. The aroma is reminiscent of dark grapes. It's slightly sweet but predominantly a dry rye spice. The finish has a tannic wine character that lingers with a warm, embracing sensation.
Slightly underwhelmed. More sharp than I expected.
