The nose is a burst of cognac with charred oak and vanilla, featuring hints of spearmint and fruity rye. It is very fresh and tantalizing. The fullness is off the charts given the relatively young age of this spirit, really drawing you in to taste it. The palate is rich and full, yet dry and chewy. Cognac is prominent along with a burst of pepper, fruit, and floral rye. The initial tasting is very intense but gives way to oak and vanilla to smooth things out on the finish. The flavors are incredibly distinct and powerful, in perfect proportions. The finish is long and sweet with cognac, oak, and vanilla swirling around in the background as flavor clings to all areas of the mouth. The intensity of its simplicity is what makes it remarkable. The perfect blend of cognac and rye and a real treat, much like a dessert.
