Review #289 Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Dark amber. Nose: Cinnamon, cocoa powder, raisins. Palate: More cinnamon, clove, baking spice. Finish: Long and very warm with cinnamon and raisin notes. Splash: A few drops of water bring out a dry oaky note. Overall: 9.5/10 - After seeing that this won best bourbon at San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2025, I was eager to try it. Some bottles from a particular distillery I’ve had had been average at best, but I was willing to pay MSRP for this bottle and then had to wait to open it. I was not disappointed. This has some amazing and unusual notes and will probably open up over time. I’d put this up against an allocated bottle any day of the week.

Aroma: frosted flakes and syrup, some herbal notes and oak Palate: maple syrup upfront, peppercorns, cobbler, vanilla, oak in the finish, pepper spice with some baking spice. Reminds me of Dark Arts Mizunara with syrup.
