This single barrel selection features the brand's standard bourbon, which is produced using both 3-grain and 4-grain mash bills with 100% sweet mash fermentation. The bourbons are aged for a minimum of four years in new, charred American oak barrels before being finished in sherry casks.

The Olorosso Sherry finish is prominent, guiding you through a fantastic experience of classic bourbon that concludes with an intensely fruity finish with lasting power. This expression distinguishes itself from other finished bourbons I've encountered. It certainly warrants a place on any collection shelf. I believe Starlight has set the benchmark for craft bourbon in the United States.
Strong aromas of charred barrels, fig, and grape. A very pleasant introduction. The palate has a velvety texture with notes of orange peel, rich dark fruit flavors, and oak. The finish is extended, featuring burnt caramel and vanilla. There's a slightly sticky mouthfeel, but overall, it's a very good barrel-finished bourbon.
It comes across as an overload of spices. Too much upfront heat, and the finish will strip paint. I compared it with Rabbit Hole and Thomas Moore wine cask finishes and preferred both over Huber.
A pleasant finish from the sherry casks. The nose isn't as corn and oak forward as I anticipated. A fine bourbon overall. It was first sold in Kansas in February 2022.

Young, yet intricate. Nicely balanced sweet and spicy notes in both aroma and flavor. Raw finish.
